Panel Discussion: Empowering Climate Action at the University of Gothenburg – Bridging Students, Researchers, Educators and Environmental Coordinators Are you a student or staff member at the University of Gothenburg passionate about addressing climate change? We warmly invite you to join this panel discussion on how our university community can work together to strengthen student engagement in climate action. Students play a vital role in shaping our collective future, both within the university and beyond. In the face of urgent environmental challenges, it is essential to recognize and support students’ knowledge, creativity, and commitment to climate action. Universities provide an important space for building this knowledge, fostering collaboration, and inspiring action for sustainable futures. At the same time, student perspectives are invaluable for researchers and educators seeking to integrate climate change into teaching and research. The Section for Sustainability at the University of Gothenburg is hosting this panel to create a bridge between students, researchers, educators and environmental coordinators. Together, we will explore how to empower students across all disciplines to take meaningful climate action. This discussion will offer a platform for: · Learning – sharing experiences and perspectives on climate action in education, research and operational activities. · Collaboration – fostering dialogue between students, teachers, researchers and environmental coordinators. · Skill-building and empowerment – identifying ways to strengthen student agency in climate initiatives within education, campus initiatives and beyond. We hope you will join us in this important conversation on empowering the next generation of climate leaders.
