Radiation safety


A course in radiation safety for all employees at the University of Gothenburg who use radioactive substances or radiation-generating devices in their research.

Target group: Staff at GU who use radioactive substances or radiation-generating apparatus in their research.

Purpose: The program aims to provide knowledge about radiation safety when working with ionizing radiation.

Contents: Areas treated are e.g. properties of different radiation types, the radiation's biological effects, radiation dose - external and internal, waste management, radiation protection legislation and regulations, the radiation protection organization at GU.

All personnel who use ionizing radiation in their activities, and who have not previously undergone any radiation protection training, are encouraged to register for the program.

To enroll, just go to the course under 'Further information'. Once you're there, switch to Englis. The course takes about three hours to complete.
