How to write a competitive grant proposal - 3 day course

The Grants and Innovation Office (FIK) offers a course on how to write a competitive research grant proposal in an efficient way. The course will be based on the participants’ own proposals, and it consists of three compulsory full-day sessions. The course will be given in English and is limited to ten participants.

Course dates:
November 18, 8.30 - 16.00
November 20, 8.30 - 16.00
November 21, 8.30 - 16.00

The course, in which we will focus on all parts of a proposal, and in particular on the research program/project description, is structured as follows: We, a number of research funding advisors from FIK, will give short presentations on the different aspects to consider when writing your proposal. Following these sessions, you will have time to work on your own draft, while we are on hand to give personal feedback. Each draft will then be collectively reviewed and commented on by us and your fellow participants. This will hopefully provide you with valuable feedback to further improve your proposal.

Each participant is expected to bring his/her own computer to be able to work with and email us different sections of the proposal during the course.

Please note that registration to this event is preliminary. Once the deadline has closed on September 30, 10 participants will be selected to participate. The selected participants will be contacted latest October 14.

Target group
This course targets researchers who are actively working on a proposal of their own, intended for submission during the first half of 2020. We expect you to have a reasonable first draft prepared for the course, and to have decided where you want to submit your final proposal.
