Thermosetting plastics and other allergenic chemical substances/products
(If you want to take the Swedish version of this course, choose instead Härdplaster och andra allergiframkallande kemiska ämnen/produkter.) Target group: Managers, supervisors/leaders, personnel including doctoral students, work environment representatives, student work environment representatives. The training provides knowledge of risks and preventive measures when handling thermosetting plastics and certain other allergenic chemical substances/products, according to the regulations AFS 2011:19 (Section 37 e). Target group: Managers, supervisors/leaders, personnel including doctoral students, work environment representatives, student work environment representatives. The training is based on the regulations AFS 2011:19 – Chemical Hazards in the Working Environment (Section 37 e). According to the regulations, training is required for those who lead the work or are employed in work where they may be exposed to chemical products if they are labeled with H317 or H334 due to their content of Epoxy plastic components, Organic acid anhydrides, Formaldehyde resins, Methacrylates, Acrylates. NOTE! Special rules apply to diisocyanates. Training is also required for work that involves thermal decomposition that releases isocyanates or processes that release formaldehyde, as well as for work with chemical products that contain ethyl-2-cyanoacrylate or methyl-2-cyanoacrylate if the work in total lasts more than 30 minutes per week. The course is given by the university's corporate health provider, Avonova, and is digital. (Avonova uses another name for the course, but it´s the same course.) In order to participate, you are required to send in all relevant safety data sheets as well as any risk assessment and work instructions to the lecturer, no later than one week before the course. Since there are special training requirements for working with diisocyanates (from August 24th 2023 and onwards), it is especially important that the lecturer gets information in advance whether you handle/are exposed to diisocyanates. After completing the course, you will receive a training certificate from the lecturer. The certificate is valid for five years from issue.
