Minne och inlärning - från synapser till minnestest / Learning and memory - from synapses to memory test, 3 hp

Kursen syftar till att ge en fördjupad förståelse av området minne och inlärning. Innehållet sträcker sig från experimentell preklinisk forskning till humana studier och användingen av kliniska minnestester. Sjukdomar och skador på minnessystemen kommer även att diskuteras. Kursens innehåll: Introduktion till minne och inlärning Molekylära och cellulära mekanismer för minne Beteendetester för minnesstudier i gnagare och andra djurmodeller Socialt minne Inlärning och minne i neurala nätverk Studier av mänskligt minne och inlärning, inkl utveckling av minnesfunktioner Sjukdomar och skador som påverkar minne och inlärning Djurmodeller för neurodegenerativa sjukdomar Genetiska grunder till neurodegenerativa sjukdomar Kliniska minnestester Kursen består av föreläsningar, demonstrationer och litteraturseminarier. Kursen avslutas med en muntlig presentation av en fördjupningsuppgift. INFORMATION IN ENGLISH The aim of the course is to give a thorough understanding of the field of learning and memory. The content covers both experimental preclinical research and human studies and the use of clinical memory tests. Diseases and traumas affecting the memory systems will also be discussed. The course content: Introduction to learning and memory Molecular and cellular mechanisms of memory Behavioral tests of learning and memory in rodents and other animal models Social memory Learning and memory in neural networks Studies of human learning and memory, including the development of memory functions Diseases and traumas effecting learning and memory Animal models of neurodegenerative diseases Genetical bases of neurodegenerative diseases Clinical memory tests The course is composed of lectures, demonstrations and litterature seminars. The course will be concluded by an oral presentation of a project work. Number of course places: 7-20 The course will be given during week 15 -16 |
