Information search 3: AI and social tools for staying up-to-date with the literature
Föreläsning och workshop / Lecture and workshop Much of a researcher’s ongoing information seeking concerns staying up to date with new literature. In this lecture and workshop we will look at how you can use AI tools and social networks to identify and track important authors and key publications as well as to explore if a publication is worth reading. We will provide a background to how the tools work and how you can fit them into your workflow. · AI tools for searching literature in natural language · Literature mapping tools, e.g. Research Rabbit or SciSpace · Academic social networks · AI tools for skimming, summarizing and conversing with texts The Social Sciences Libraries offer a lecture and a subsequent workshop for doctoral students who are starting up their studies or have come a bit on the way. The workshop addresses the issue of how you keep up to date with new literature and research that is not in subject databases. You attend one of the lectures (they are identical and a prerequisite for the workshop) before the workshop. To attend the workshop we ask you to register. You can also register for the lectures. The workshop has a focus on disciplines at the Faculties of Education, IT, Social Science and the School of Business, Economics and Law. Presentations are held in English. |
